Nasser Hussein studied fine art at Damascus University, where he received his BFA in 1997. In 2003, he travelled to Germany, graduating from the Universität Siegen a year later. In 2004, he pursued his studies further at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, graduating in 2006. Hussein has held a number of solo exhibitions including Ishtar Gallery, Damascus, 2001; Cultural Department of Bonn, Bonn, 2004; Museum of Bad Berleburg, Bad Berleburg, 2004; Mustafa Gallery, Damascus, 2006; Karim Gallery, Amman, 2008; and Atassi Gallery, Damascus, 2008. He has also participated in biennales and group exhibitions such as Latakia Biennale and the Cairo International Biennale, 2001; Artists from Today’s Syria, Mashrabia Gallery, Cairo, 2012; and Art Syria, Meem Gallery, Dubai, 2013.
