Zhivago Duncan is a Mexico City based, multi-media artist. Graduating from The Chelsea College of Art in 2007, Duncan strives to challenge his artistic practice by testing his creative control. Using a diverse array of materials he utilises both traditional and non-traditional media, resulting in a body of work that includes large-scale site-specific installation, printmaking and photography, performance art, sculpture and painting.
This eclectic selection of materials, coupled with his innate curiosity could be seen to mirror his heritage. A multi-linguist who has lived throughout Europe and the Middle East, the self proclaimed ‘perpetual foreigner’, is half Syrian and half Danish, was born in the USA and educated in the UK. Duncan’s works have been collected by the Barjeel Art Foundation, Sharjah; Saatchi Collection, London; Me Collectors, Olbricht Collection, Berlin and Perez Art Museum, Miami. In 2012 Duncan received the XLVIII Premio internazional Le Muse, Florence.Duncan’s works have been collected by the Barjeel Art Foundation, The Saatchi Collection and the Perez Art Museum, Miami.
